Organic Development Finance (ODF) has provided financing to Cooperativa Agraria Aromas del Valle, a Peruvian agrarian cooperative that strengthens the organic specialty coffee value chain while advancing social inclusion and gender empowerment. Cooperativa Agraria Aromas del Valle brings together 681 coffee-producing families across the provinces of Jaén, San Ignacio, and Cutervo in northern Peru, cultivating high-quality Arabica coffee.

Here’s the impact Cooperativa Agraria Aromas del Valle is delivering:

Gender Empowerment
Aromas Del Valle’s Mestiza program empowers women coffee producers by recognising their ownership and contributions, along with targeted training to enhance agronomic and business skills.

Farmer Support & Inclusive Cooperative Model
The cooperative provides continuous technical assistance, micro-financing, and transparent premium distribution mechanisms, enabling farmers to improve agricultural practices, renovate plantations, and strengthen long-term livelihoods.

Certified & Sustainable Coffee Production
Aromas Del Valle supplies specialty-grade Arabica coffee certified under EU Organic, USDA Organic, Rainforest Alliance, and Fairtrade standards, ensuring environmental stewardship, traceability, and fair compensation for farmers.

ODF’s financing supports the procurement of organic coffee beans from cooperative members, enabling timely payments to farmers and strengthening cash flow across the value chain. Through this partnership, Cooperativa Agraria Aromas del Valle continues to demonstrate how inclusive finance can drive sustainable agriculture and resilient rural communities.
