Insights from Bharat Tex 2026
Published: July 24, 2026
Bharat Tex 2026 brought together manufacturers, brands, policymakers, investors, researchers and development partners to explore the future of India’s textile and apparel industry.
The Good Fashion Fund participated in a range of discussions and roundtables focused on how finance can accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient textile industry.
Topics ranged from worker-centred heat adaptation and industrial decarbonisation to renewable energy and investment in sustainable manufacturing. Across these conversations, one message came through clearly: the challenge is no longer identifying solutions. It is mobilising the capital needed to scale them.
For the Good Fashion Fund, these discussions reinforce the importance of bridging the gap between sustainability ambition and investable action. While technologies and solutions are increasingly available, manufacturers often need the right financing, partnerships and technical support to implement them at scale.
The conversations at Bharat Tex also highlighted the importance of taking a holistic approach to the transition. Decarbonisation and resource efficiency need to go hand in hand with investments that support worker wellbeing, resilience and a just transition across textile supply chains.
We are grateful to the organisers and partners who created valuable platforms for dialogue, including the Sustainability Conclave, Laudes Foundation, Sattva Consulting, Good Business Lab and the Impact Investors Council.
The Good Fashion Fund looks forward to continuing these conversations and, more importantly, translating them into investments that help transform textile supply chains.
