A productive week in Bangladesh for the Good Fashion Fund

Published: September 10, 2026

The Good Fashion Fund recently engaged with partners and stakeholders across Bangladesh’s textile and apparel ecosystem as we continue to develop and refine the strategy for Good Fashion Fund 2.0 (GFF 2.0).

A key part of the engagement was a roundtable on financing the decarbonisation of Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector, organised by Aii, HSBC and the Embassy of Sweden. The discussion brought together industry stakeholders, implementation partners and government representatives to explore both the opportunities and practical challenges involved in financing the sector’s transition.

The Good Fashion Fund also held discussions with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh and the European Union in Bangladesh. These conversations provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the role European partners can play in supporting a more sustainable, competitive and resilient textile and apparel sector in Bangladesh.

Despite ongoing energy challenges, the resilience and ambition of Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry remain encouraging. Local stakeholders continue to demonstrate a strong commitment to investing in the sector’s future and advancing its transition towards more sustainable production.

Through GFF 2.0, the Good Fashion Fund aims to contribute to this transition by financing decarbonisation and resource-efficiency investments in mid-sized textile and apparel manufacturers. Alongside these investments, the fund intends to support gender-positive social interventions that create value for both workers and businesses.

Achieving the scale of transformation required will require collaboration across the ecosystem. Local industry, government, financial institutions, brands, development partners and international investors all have an important role to play in mobilising capital, sharing expertise and translating ambition into investments on the ground.

The Good Fashion Fund looks forward to continuing to build these partnerships and contributing to the next chapter of Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector.
